At Pixelfat we do things a little differently. 

We’re a team of remote product designers based in the Bay Area who help both large and small scale companies create beautiful products that perform. We believe in the power of direct collaboration to craft beautiful, effective product design. We typically work on long term engagements (3-6 months), integrating with our client’s cross functional team.  Each designer has autonomy within their own client project while at the same time having the mentorship and support of the larger Pixelfat team. Our goal is to build great products while being the ambassadors for a strong design culture.

A huge benefit to working at Pixelfat is our dedication to work life balance. Many of the designers at Pixelfat have passions and side gigs of their own. Because of this we have a four day work week (Monday-Thursday). In addition, many designers choose to take a couple months off between projects to travel or pursue their own projects.

You Are

You’re a good product designer. You know how to get things done and done well. You understand user flows, user research and the technical requirements that engineers think about when implementing your designs.

You want to be an even better product designer. Obviously.

You’re independent and self driven. You can be self directed in ambiguous situations.

You’ve been doing this a while. You’ve got about 3-4 years of in-the-field experience.

You work well with people. Whether it’s working with the rest of the Pixelfat team or directly with one of our clients, you love collaborating and you know how to be a team player. You’re also respectful, professional and show up on time. 

You excel working in a cross functional team. Your favorite part of being a product designer  is shoulder to shoulder pairing with engineers and PMs. You love working with folks from different disciplines to solve complex problems.

You like freedom. You’re a freelancer and entrepreneur at heart. Meaning you’re not looking for a 9 to 5 with limited PTO. You like the flexibility of working with new people on exciting projects every 3-6 months. 

You believe in work life balance. You believe in work life balance and the ability to work only 4 days a week. You like to step away from the computer for a month or two between projects and travel or work on passion projects.

You work best with a team. You love consulting, but you hate the grind of finding new contracts. You love having a mentor and design team to lean on for support and guidance.
